Clubs Vs Finding New Teammates

Which Ranks Can Play Together In Rocket League

Rocket League’s rank restriction only applies in one specific case: two players queuing together in 3v3 Standard competitive, or 3v3 Standard tournaments. If you are a duo queuing 3v3 ranked, the two of you need to be within 3 ranks of each other. Ranks, not divisions. Divisions do not count toward the gap at all.

Knowing this changes who is worth adding as a teammate. If you are Platinum and your friend is Grand Champion, 2v2 is wide open. If you both want 3v3, you need a gap of 3 ranks or less, or you need a third player to round out the party.

Rocket League has a built in Clubs feature, supporting up to 20 members, and when two full clubs face off it triggers a Club Match that shows both clubs’ names and colours on screen. Clubs are great once you already have a team.
